Leak Detection
Pesky leak giving you trouble? Leaks can make your water bill climb and even cause costly damage to your home. If you’ve looked at your water bill or usage report and aren’t sure if you have a leak, check your water meter. Start by turning off all of the water in your home. Then, watch the dial on your water meter for any changes. If the dial starts moving immediately, you have a fast moving leak, such as a burst pipe. If you don’t notice a change, take down a reading from your meter and wait two hours while leaving the water off. If the reading changes while the water is still off in your home, you’ve detected a slow-moving leak, such as a drip.
