Project Overview

Over the last couple of years, we have collaborated with John Hyland Construction on some very impressive, large-scale projects, the most recent being Jefferson Middle School’s Arts and Technology Academy. The community needed a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient learning facility, and it needed to be constructed while accommodating an ongoing school schedule. We gladly took on this challenge!

This project was a massive undertaking—100,237 square feet of new construction and remodel. We began electrical installation in April of 2016 and completed work in October 2017, which meant we had a lot of work to do while school was still in session. This required an intricate phasing plan and scheduling sequence so that our work could progress without interfering with students and school staff.

In addition to an up-to-date electrical system, the students at Jefferson Middle School now have a professional sound system for the main gym and drama program, a state-of-the-art security and fire system, and a totally integrated AMX system, putting the entire campus on one cohesive network. Our team also installed one of the most advanced lighting control systems on the market, which boasts 100% LED fixtures and includes photocells, dimmers, and daylight harvesting. Jefferson Middle is now one of the most energy-efficient schools in all of Lane County
